2300 BLOCK OF WESTHAVEN AVENUEBAKERSFIELD

On September 10th, 2023, at approximately 12:28 AM, Bakersfield Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2300 block of Westhaven Avenue regarding a report of a large party and a shooting. Officers arrived and located two victims of a shooting. Both victims were male juveniles ages 16 and 17. The juveniles were transported to a local hospital where the 17-year-old was pronounced deceased, and the 16-year-old was in critical condition. The identity of the decedent was released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. There is currently no suspect information for public release.
