Frederick Police Makes Arrest for First-Degree Assault in Domestic Violence Incident

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on April 21, 2024, officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Squad-A were dispatched to the 900 block of W. Patrick Street in response to a reported domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers encountered two individuals with significant injuries suggestive of serious assaults. The suspect, identified as Abner Perez-Sandoval (DOB: 06-22-2004), was found at the scene in a heavily intoxicated state and resisted arrest. Further investigation revealed that Perez-Sandoval allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and another individual who attempted to intervene, resulting in significant injuries to both victims. The suspect is accused of violently assaulting the two female victims. During the arrest, Perez-Sandoval continued to resist, disrupted public peace, and assaulted a police officer. Following his apprehension, Perez-Sandoval was transported to Frederick Health Hospital for medical evaluation and subsequently taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.
